So you’re thinking about applying for ECO funding, but you need some guidance through the process. Applying for funding can certainly sound daunting and definitely has connotations of long forms that ask questions you don’t have the answers to, but we assure you that applying for ECO funding couldn’t be easier, as this guide will show you.
Check that you qualify for ECO Funding
In order to qualify for funding, the applicant must be a homeowner anywhere in the UK, and must be claiming one or more of the listed benefits. Applicants should be aware that the list of qualifying benefits will change as of April 1 2022, in line with the next phase of the ECO scheme, ECO4.
In order to qualify for a replacement boiler grant, there are criteria that must be met based on several factors that determine youtube property LTS score. The main factors include property size and wall type. A financial contribution may be required from properties with a low LTS score, if the candidate qualifies.
Apply for your grant
Once you know that you’re eligible for ECO funding solutions, you’ll need to fill in your grant application. The application form will ask you for information about the type of property you own and the location of your property. It will also ask for your basic contact information, as well as confirming whether or not you are in receipt of state benefits.
After the application has been received, you will be contacted by an area approved company to discuss the next steps sof your application over the phone. At this stage of the process, they may ask for evidence that you are in receipt of state benefits, to confirm your eligibility for the grant.
Over the phone, the company will also arrange an appropriate time to come out for a home visit. Once all of this has been discussed, they will calculate the amount of funding you are eligible for. At this stage, if the contribution you are required to make is too high, you are under no obligation to proceed further.
After the call
When the day of your home visit comes round, your surveyor will begin by asking you a few questions about your property, to make sure they have all of the information they need before they begin. They will then conduct the survey, taking pictures to support your application. The outcome of the survey will then be reported to you, and your grant money sent to the company who initially contacted you about your application.
As you can see, it has never been easier or more important to apply for ECO funding. Once you take the first step and submit an enquiry about ECO funding, you will be assisted every step of the way by your installation company and your application body. Remember the list of qualifying benefits changes in April 2022, and some people who would have qualified under ECO3, will no longer be eligible under ECO4. Be sure to get yours in today!
